What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a hands-on form of healthcare focused on the relationship between the body’s structure and function. Osteopaths assess the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems to understand how pain, restriction or injury may be affecting movement and overall body function.

Treatment may include manual techniques to support mobility, alignment, circulation and the body’s natural capacity to recover. At All About Health Aldinga, osteopathic care may also include cranial and biodynamic approaches, depending on the presentation.

People seek osteopathy to help with:
  • Back and neck pain

  • Joint pain and restricted movement

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Sciatic nerve pain

  • Muscle and ligament injuries

  • Falls, accidents and trauma-related strain

  • Pre and post-surgery recovery

  • Pregnancy-related pelvic, back or rib discomfort

  • Post-partum strain and feeding posture tension

  • Paediatric and newborn concerns

How osteopathy may support you
  • Assessing the underlying factors contributing to pain or restriction

  • Supporting mobility, alignment and biomechanical function

  • Helping reduce muscular, joint and soft tissue restriction

  • Supporting recovery after injury, strain or physical trauma

  • Providing care during pregnancy, post-partum recovery and early childhood

  • Supporting the body’s natural healing and regulatory processes

What to expect

Your osteopath will begin with a detailed health history, including injury onset, symptoms, medical background and relevant assessment. This helps guide the treatment approach and identify what may be contributing to your pain, restriction or movement concerns. Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include hands-on manual therapy, movement assessment, management advice and referral to other health practitioners where appropriate.
